Mother Goose

Show Dates - 20th January 2009 - 31st January 2009
Signpost club has a reputation for a strong chorus line. This production was no exception with 22 girls mastering 10 different character dances – some traditional and some modern throughout the show. The junior section in the form of signpost kids, also got in on the act with the shows opening routine. In total 12 scene changes and over 400 costumes used in each performance.
This year’s Panto started with Helene telling the tale of Mother Goose to the children (signpost kids). We saw the planning for Mother Goose’s birthday party. The snow fairy brought a present from the queen of Gooseland in the form of a gosling that lays golden eggs, as a gift to reward her kindness and generosity, but warns that that the gold must not be used selfishly. Jemima grows up and starts to lay, with all the gold Mother Goose thinks that a little spent on herself can’t hurt. Consequently the queen of Gooseland takes Jemima away and so our adventure begins…………………
Mother Goose, the Baroness and all the kids start their journey to Gooseland to plead for Jemima’s return. Their journey takes them through Holland to Austria, onto Russia, then boarding a diesel train to the glass mountain.
